A coordinated international retail solution
Challenge
Nissan needed a partner to design, manage and install retail hardware and furniture across its Nordic showroom network. The solution would need detailed coordination, international reach and minimal disruption.
In addition, tact and understanding were crucial in handling Nissan’s dealer network.
Solution
We designed a customised, scalable retail solution and rolled it out seamlessly across four countries. We collaborated closely with the dealer network, gaining their trust and fitting in seamlessly with the way they worked.
Skill and technology: highly experienced teams surveyed all Nissan brand centres, drew up detailed floorplans and developed a custom solution. All showrooms were photographed and documented and customised.
Global solution: we handled the manufacture, distribution and installation of retail systems across 200 showrooms in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Futurama teams carried out the first 20 installations, educating and handing over to local teams for the remaining projects.
Economies of scale: drawing on our global sourcing network, we centralised production in an Far Eastern facility where we trained staff and maintained the highest levels of quality and workmanship.
Outcome
Global sourcing resulted in significant cost savings for Nissan and central coordination cut labour costs dramatically. 150 retail outlets were installed in a six week program, giving Nissan Nordic instant recognition.
Nissan showrooms now have a consistent look and feel internationally. And with Futurama taking care of the deployment and ongoing management, Nissan dealers can focus on doing more business.
The project is a big success and Futurama continues to support Nissan Nordic, with the project now expanding into the Netherlands.
