A clean sweep for more effective working
Challenge
Lloyds TSB needed to de-clutter its customer-facing/point-of-sale areas. It wanted to use these spaces to create a coherent, consistent brand message across all branches.
Solution
At Futurama, we always look at the big picture. We soon realised this was a perfect opportunity to rationalise not only the customer areas, but the back-office areas too – some of which had over 25 years of clutter build-up.
Fast and efficient: in just six weeks, we devised a plan to make a clean sweep of 1,800 branches right across the country. Four dedicated project managers then coordinated the 18-week project, which covered 20 branches a night.
Cutting-edge solution: teams on the ground used hand-held PDAs to upload data to a secure server, accessible by Futurama and Lloyds TSB.
Thorough and practical: the clean sweep included IT equipment, electrical goods and hazardous waste. Everything was logged and documented, and a 120-page manual was compiled to help local staff maintain the areas. Thorough training was given to Lloyds TSB surveyors to ensure ongoing adherence to standards.
Outcome
The solution transformed Lloyds TSB customer-facing and back-office areas into efficient, well-organised spaces that worked for customers and staff alike.
